New Ladytron single - 'White Elephant' & the greatest Dr Who eppy ever?

Pitchfork have posted some enticing teasers about the new Ladytron album that is set for release this year on Network Records.
'Gravity The Seducer'
hits UK shores on September 12th with a stunning album cover (opposite) that may take a few of you back to the days of 'Yes', Rick Wakeman and other Prog Rock monstrosities but fear not.
Pitchfork have also posted an exclusive stream of the album's opening single 'White Elephant' that admittedly does have a touch of 'Prog' about it but it's still full of the BEF knob twiddly bits that put Ladytron light years ahead of similar acts. The track also has those wonderfully haunting harmonies with distant radiophonic pulses - still loveably Tron but markedly different from some of the distorted dance beats of 2008's 'Velocifero'.
With a fair bit of stagnation creeping into current 'synth pop', Ladytron appear to have evolved and twisted things slightly if 'White Elephant' is anything to go by and at 8pm in the evening with a jug of Pimms, this track could well be the soundtrack to our summer...do give this a few listens before passing judgment for it is lovely.
Prog Electro anyone?
'White Elephant' is available now as a digital single via Amazon.co.uk

Dr Who - The Doctor's Wife (one or two spoilers)
Saturday night marked the transmission of one of the greatest Dr Who stories ever made and it all came from the twisted imagination of cult author Neil Gaiman. In last week's eppy, The Doctor was lured into a trap by a parasitic entity known only as 'House' that had killed 'hundreds' of Time Lords.
House also had the ability to transport the 'soul' of the Tardis into the body of a young women whilst the humanoid operatives of this pesky entity were 'patchwork' people constructed from the limbs of previous victims. 'The Doctor's Wife' went from Steam Punk to Hinchclife horror with sharp dialogue, warm fuzzy moments and a teary conclusion. Add to the mix a disembodied voice provided by the brilliant Michael Sheen who delivers lines with such flippant menace...
'Fear me. I've killed hundreds of Time Lords'
EY's beautiful Babooshka lavishes more praise upon 'The Doctor's Wife' and the 'Bitey Mad Lady' with a most excellent review here.
No words needed for this except to say that we bloody love this.... Sir Feargal Sharkey singing 'Never Never' live with Sir Vince Clarke for the first time in almost 30 years at Mute's Short Circuit.
Andy Bell also provides the backing vocals on what is a magical clip uploaded to YouTube this week....enjoy.
