Heaven 17 site
Sheffield's (other) finest band. Since splitting from the original
Human League line-up in 1980 shortly after the release of the sublime
Travelogue - Martyn Ware
and Ian Craig Marsh
created BEF and went on to produce the critically acclaimed 'Penthouse
& Pavement' in 1981. Warm
electronics fused with soul - the success of 'The
Luxury Gap' would later lead
to a collaboration with Tina Turner which relaunched her musical
career.
Heaven 17 were one of the first bands to experiment with the 'extended
dance version' offering new mixes on the 12" and have influenced
many acts including producer Richard
X.
1997's 'Bigger Than America'
was full of analogue gems and the band are released 'Before After'
in September 2005 on US label Ninthwave
who also scored a Top 10 Billboard Dance Chart hit with the opening
single 'I'm Gonna Make You Fall In Love With Me' in early 2006.
This stylish official site also contains input from the band including
regular posts to the forum by Glenn Gregory.
Following on fron the sales success of the first three remastered
H17 albums, a new live DVD and 'Best Of' are due this autumn.

Depeche Mode
Home
2005's
'Playing The Angel' confirmed
Depeche Mode's status as the world's biggest electronic band. The
singles 'Precious', 'A
Pain That I'm Used To', 'Suffer
Well' and 'John The Revelator'
were huge international hits whilst the recent 2006 DM world tour
has played to over 1.5 million people.
Formerly known as 'Empty World', the Home fansite is the best DM
website out there and it's constantly first with exclusive news
and interviews with people who have worked with the band over the
past 25 years.

Expertly run by remixer BRAT, this offical site was one of the first
to appear on the internet and it's also the biggest with video and
audio files that go right back to 1981.
goldfrapp.free.fr
2003's 'Black Cherry' was a sleazy fusion of nu-electro and glam
rock producing one of the best singles in recent years: 'Strict
Machine'. And in 2005, Goldfrapp finally attracted widespread acclaim
with their single 'Ooh La La'
which was followed by the pure pop sheen of 'Supernature'.
The Frapp also provided Depeche Mode with two very inventive remixes
('Halo' and 'A
Pain That I'm Used To') mixes that impressed Martin
Gore so much that he invited Alison & Will to support
the Mode on tour in 2006.
A new Frapp album is expected in 2007.
This European fansite is one of the best
online with constant news updates and a vast array of media files.

Hot Chip

One of the brightest UK electronic acts to arrive on the scene in
recent years. . .
Hot Chip have avoided all the retro tags of the doomed electroclash
movement mainly because their music is left-of-field and experimental
in nature - yet the album 'The
Warning' - contains some classic
pop songs.
Despite being a bit too clever for the charts in their current form,
Hot Chip's 'The Warning' has attracted widespread critical acclaim
from some unlikely sources such as NME and UK tabloid 'The Sun'
whilst the album was nominated for this year's Mercury
Music Prize.
Warm analogue classics on their 2006 album include 'Careful',
'So Glad To See You',
'Over & Over'
and the forthcoming stomper of a single 'No
Fit State'.
Bjork
The best female artist ever - period. A uniquely seductive voice
to match her distinctive looks, Bjork has released five electronically
enhanced solo albums since 1993. This official site is probably
the best of it's kind combining input from Bjork herself and all
the passion you get with the best fansites. Bjork's last studio
album Medulla (2004) was simply outstanding confirming her status
as the world's most innovative female artist.
Richard
X
Self confessed Human League/Heaven 17 fan RX raised the League's
profile in 2003 by sampling 'Being
Boiled' for Liberty
X and 'The
Things That Dreams Are Made Of'
for RnB stunner Kelis
- both singles were UK top 10 hits. This talented and much in demand
producer also reached number 2 with electro-stomper 'Some
Girls' written and produced by
RX for Rachel Stevens.
Since 2004, Richard has remixed Depeche
Mode classic 'Enjoy
The Silence', Yazoo's 'Don't
Go', and 'Fugitive'
for the Pet Shop Boys
in 2006.
The Black Melody site also contains news on future RX projects.
