Those cheery chaps at side-line.com have posted details of future Depeche plans that may include a tour of South America next year. Martin Gore (who has just released a digi single with Vince Clarke) will reveal new Mode songs in a meeting with Dave Gahan and Andy Fletcher in January 2012 that will probably lead to recording sessions in March. According to Fletch, plans are already underway for a world tour.

Side-line are hoping for a new Mode direction following 2009's 'Sounds of The Universe' that they believe was the 'worse Mode album ever released' and makes 'even' 'Speak & Spell' a 'monument'. We happen to adore 'Speak & Spell' and most of 'Sounds of The Universe' but do agree that the last album lacked a killer track like 'Precious' or 'A Pain That I'm Used To'. EY was more horrified by the recent Mode cover of U2's 'So Cruel' than anything prior to 2009. Whatever the new Mode sessions produce, you can bet that most devotees will whinge when the new album finally arrives whilst EY will be realistic, take deep breaths and hope for one or two gems to rave about.

Techno Mania!

According to EY's Google referral stats, the news of Vince Clarke & Martin Gore's new musical project has been one of the most popular news stories in recent months with many searching for bit torrents of the forthcoming single 'Spock'.

Mute Records have premiered the 'original' version 'Spock' via the brilliant Soundcloud that may remind some of those CD single eight minute dub remixes that you tend to skip after the first listen. 'Spock' does contain some nice deep Yazoo-ish synth bass which is the closest thing to a hook. See what you think via the Soundcloud player below....

Austra set to release Deluxe 'Feel It Break'

We usually get a bit irritated about those cheeky 'Special Editions' once you've parted with hard earned Euro's on the 'vanilla' CD but Austra's 'Feel if Break' is one of EY's fave albums of 2011 and we do love Kate here at EYHQ. Austra are now taking pre-orders for the deluxe 'Feel it Break' that will be available as a 2-CD set as well as the usual digi download.

CD2 will contain nine tracks of b-sides including the excellent 'Young & Gay' that really should have made the final cut of the album plus the more recent 'Identity' that was the flipside to 'Spellwork'. The bonus CD also includes a remix of 'Beat & The Pulse' plus possibly one of the most bizarre choices for an electro cover of all time - Roy Orbison's 'Crying' . The digital download is available now via Paper Bag Records whilst the CD will ship in mid December.

Austra are currently busy at work on a promo video for 'Spellwork' that we are hoping will be fab. Here's one of the track that first made us fall in love with Austra..

Lost Sirens?

Rhino Records have plundered the New Order archive for a 8-track compilation of previously unreleased tracks.

'Lost Sirens' will feature songs recorded during the 2004-05 studio sessions for their final album 'Waiting for the Sirens’ Call'.

Hard to tell what this will be like as the 'Sirens' album was pretty forgettable bar 'Krafty' though 'Hellbent' (that appeared on the recent 'Total' comp) was something of a revelation... so there could be hope for 'Lost Sirens'.

The confirmed 'Lost Sirens' tracklisting is as follows:

01. Stay with You
02. Sugarcane
03. Recoil
04. Californian Grass (Doomy)
05. Hellbent
06. Shake It Up
07. I’ve Got a Feeling
08. I Told You So

The album is released December 14th in the UK on CD/digital.
