Mysterious Swedish act Posttod have this week ensured that we remain in Nordically Yours Mode after submitting a cheery email to EYHQ containing a link to their brand new track and we replied in light speed fashion with the word 'lovely!'
Taken from Posttod's forthcoming EP, this as of yet untitled track has only just been uploaded to YouTube and it's a touching blend of M83 atmospherics and tingly sequencing. For a band who give away all their tracks as freebie downloads, you'd expect some charming but instantly forgettable 'soft synth' DIY effort but this new track positively sparkles with a rich pallet of sounds and production to die for...Nordically yours indeed.
Opting to keep out of the limelight, Posttod have put together a video of clips from the recent UK flick 'Never Let Me Go' which had a terrific premise with humans being bred purely for organ transplants for the very rich but the end result was rather miserable and hard to endure despite the ever watchable Carey Mulligan of Dr Who 'Blink' fame. Posttod's clever editing of the film to a rather beautiful tune is so good that we were fleetingly tempted to watch 'Never Let Me Go' again but we endulged ourselves in a wonderous Season 4 'Blake's 7' megathon instead.
Alison & Will are back following the disappointing 'Head First' with a new single 'Yellow Halo' that sits somewhere between the best of 'Felt Mountain' and the gorgeous title track of 'Black Cherry'. Another new track 'Melancholy Sky' has also been recorded and is due to feature on the forthcoming compilation 'The Singles' that will span an entire decade of some delicious and very influential electro.
Shot on grainy Super 8 with faded lens burns, the video for 'Yellow Halo' conjures up waves of nostalgia and seems to hint at a sense of closure as the closing shot sees Alison wave goodbye. Of course we could be reading too much into all this and 'Yellow Halo' is a bit of a weepy number that ticks all the right Frappy boxes (perfect vox, lush atmospherics from Will, sweeping orchestrations, sensual 'whooos' etc).
The full tracklisting is as follows:

Lovely Head
Utopia (Genetically Enriched)
A&E
Happiness (single version)

Its been a while since we mentioned the Greek capital on these pages but the Athens based boy/girl duo are back with a new track that is currently getting showered in blog love from the likes of The Fader and it brings to a close today's trilogy of ultra chilled tracks for your listening pleasure. 'Struggle With Yourself' impresses with some scratchy XX electronics, warm vox from Sarah P and some very moody-Modey-percussion.
The track is taken from the EP 'Campus Martius' available now from the Planet Mu label and you can sample the lead track below....
Pip has this week unveiled the album title and artwork for her long awaited new album. The artwork for 'Anxiety' has once again been provided by artist Sarah Lanarch who also animated the video for 2008's 'My Delirium'. The new album has been produced by the legendary Pascal Gabriel who masterminded the 2008 debut and NME have posted an exclusive teaser from the new album that can be found here.
